Hi,

i'm working on Netbackup 7.7.3 and i execute one script with bprestore command for linux client. The Master Server is Linux.

My question is: Why the log that i see on the GUI have more information than progress_log on bprestore -L command cli?

I need to have on restore log, the disk policy/tape used where data reside.

May someone help on this?

Thanks in advance,
Best Regards

You can look in your bprd log and see what options the GUI sent that may help you get what you want. Only use documented options among what you find. Some options are for internal NetBackup communications.

You will not see all the details from the activity monitor the the bprestore log. Netbackup is not written that way. You have the activity monitor for the Netbackup admin. The restore log on the client is intended for non-netbackup admins and therefor does not contain all the information from the activity monitor.

Hi all,

thanks for response. So, if i run a restore from master server via cli with bprestore command, there isn't a method in order to have the DiskVolume/Tape used for restore?

Thanks,
Best Regards

The question was about the progress log when bprestore is generated from the GUI vs. the progress log from the bprestore -L option.

Please show an example of each progress log where you see the information you want in one but not in the other. Please also find the corresponding C_BPRESTORE requests in the bprd log to show the difference in the requests generated by the GUI or by directly calling bprestore.

If you don't specify the -L option on bprestore, do you see anything different in the progress log shown in the GUI compared with the other two examples?

Hi this is the difference from GUI Log to "bprestore -L" progress log:

I would need that in log consultable via cli, this row present on gui log: 11/20/2018 10:05:06 - granted resource  MediaID=@aaaab;DiskVolume=PureDiskVolume;DiskPool=dp_disk_XXX;Path=PureDiskVolume;StorageServer=XXX;MediaServer=XXX

because in bprestore progress log is not present.

Thanks,
Best Regards

You are confusing job details with progress log. In the GUI, the progress log is the same as what you see on the Task Progress tab of the BAR window.

I don't know how to get the information you're looking for. It's outside my experience. I was trying to answer why the progress log in the GUI would differ from the progress log written by the bprestore -L option. I don't think it does.
