NetBackup 7.5 Unable to load Client Software on Windows 2003 Server

Kwinter

Hi,

When I connect to this windows 2003 x86 VM-Ware server via "Console" and local admin account, I cannot install the NetBackup 7.5 software.  I have the software copied to the local C:\ drive.

Error Message:  "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file.  You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

This is very odd.  I checked the folder rights and the local has "full" rights.  Tried stopping the existing 7.0.1 NetBackup Server Services and that didn't help.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Thank you for your help!

It turns out two things were stopping me for the client install:

(1) in the install folder where the "setup.exe"; had to right-click on the "setup.exe" and click the "Unblock" first.

(2) then right click on the 'setup.exe" and did "Run As" and now since the "unblock" was done, I could "uncheck  'run this program with restricted access'".

Then everything worked great  -- Thank Wr and Marianne !!!
