7.6.0.4 support only 11.0 ?
Thanks
Federico

Hi Federico,
Yes. The DB CL has been updated to reflect this as well:
2. Enterprise Vault 11.0.1 is supported on SQL Server 2014 with NetBackup 7.6.1.1.

Chris, quick question, when you talk about Vsphere 2015, is it vsphere 6?
Or we are still on 5.5 support as top level?
Thanks.

Hi RM,
I believe vSphere 2015 IS vSphere 6. Can anyone who knows more than I please confirm (or use Google for me)?

I find mixed info about it, looks like it was supposed to be called 2015 and ended up being 6, but not sure.

What's listed as vSphere 2015 IS vSphere 6 support, and yes, it's available before VMware has announced the GA of vSphere 6. Pretty cool huh? You'll see more info about it when vSphere 6 finally goes GA. One thing's for sure, you won't be waiting on NetBackup to be ready in order to roll it out into production!

NetBackup 7.6.1.1 new features, enhancements, and changes
Note: Some of the functionality that was introduced in NetBackup 7.6.0.4 was not present in the NetBackup 7.6.1 release. That functionality has been restored in NetBackup 7.6.1.1. See “About upgrade paths to the NetBackup 7.6.1 line of releases” on page 12.
The following list contains some of the new features, enhancements, and changes that can be found in NetBackup starting in version 7.6.1.1:
■ Replication Director introduces the ability to create snapshots of EMC VNX and Celerra storage systems. See the following document for information about configuring the storage shares, creating a storage server, and setting up policies to create snapshots: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH228346
■ NetBackup has added support for the backup and restore of the following General Parallel File System (GPFS) metadata attributes: storage pools, metadata replication, and data replication. More information about this feature is available: See “Support for GPFS metadata attributes: storage pools, metadata replication, and data replication” on page 16.
■ Support for Lotus Notes 9 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.5
■ Support for SAP High-Performance Analytic Appliance (HANA) on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.5

Hi Adam,
Turns out I was premature about RHEL 7 support and I'll have to edit my statements to take that bullet point out. Sorry about that!

Good news.
Today, the target version for production (for us / c-storage) is 7604, i hope that the 7611 will be also stable.
I see that the MSDP 761 support 96 TB of MSDP storage on SLES. Have you planned other supported OS ?
The OIP (Oracle Intelligent Policy) is a very interesting functionality to simplify Oracle Backups, but the restores are always difficult for a non admin Oracle
For me this is better for an Oracle production (a backup admin is not a DBA), but for customers (especially in pre-sale), a user-friendly interface is expected (see the CommVault Oracle Agent), have you planned a evolution for the restore process ?
And have you planned an "intelligent policy" for SQL Server ?
And thanks for this post

Hi Stephane,
Sorry to say, I'm not usually let in on the roadmap stuff. :) You may wish to engage your sales engineer with questions about what you would like to see to specifically address your needs in future versions of NetBackup.

HI Chris,
No problem, i understand.

If Master is running on 7.5.0.6. do we need to upgrade to 7.5.0.7 before upgrading to 7.6.1 if TIR is used in policies.
03-17-2015 11:00 AM
You can upgrade directly to 7.6.1 from 7.5.x.
See NetBackup 7.6.1 installation media URL: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH224245
The NetBackup 7.6.1 GA Release is a full media release for upgrades from any NetBackup 7.x version.

This particular issue ONLY affected 7.5.0.6, so you won't see it in 7.6.1.
