NetBackup Assessment

Hi to everyone,

I have to do something to optimize the resources use in my Netbackup infrastructure.

To quickly introduce or summarize our installation:

The catalog size is rounding 800 GB.

We have vaulted images for a period of 10 years.

We use several types of backup media such as LTO 4, 5, 6 and disk pools (advance, dedupe).

Our master server is installed on AIX and have media servers on AIX and Windows.

I have heard of a tool called Veritas Netbackup Assessment Tool (NBAT) but I couldn´t find it and think is not available for general public.

I appeal to you all for recommendations.

Not sure if it is the same thing, but customers with BCS (Business Critical Services) Support may qualify for a free assessment.

This might be available as a paid service to non-BCS customers.

Please discuss this with your local reseller.

Yes it is the same thing. As well as BCS, trained Veritas SEs and consultants can deliver NBAT assessments as can suitably qualified partners. As Marianne says, discuss with your reseller or Veritas directly. The tool is good. Andrew
