NetBackup Legacy Client Service crash after Windows Server Update KB4534271

Hi,

since the installation of the mentioned Windows Update (KB4534271) we have problems with the Legacy Client Service. The service crashes and won't start after then. A reboot does not change anything. Until now we did not test to uninstall the update since backups and restores are working fine. Has anyone experienced the same thing?

If the issue hapened immediately after the patch was applied, then itis likely that something in the patch is casuing the issue.

The easiest and quickest way to determine this, is to remove the patch and hope the cleanup is good enough to return the system to the pre-patch state, and then see if the problem dissappears.

There is a possibility the patch reoval leaves things behind, and so removal doesn't 'fix' the issue which woud make it look like the patch wasn't responsible - at this point we simply don;t know, it mght or might not be.

Hopefully that will not happen, and the best result is that you can demonstrate that the patch is responsible.

If so, you will then need to log a call with both Microsoft and Veritas - we would need to know from Microsoft 'exactly' what the patch does.

I was able to uninstall the mentioned patch on one of the machines. Unfortunately it did not resolve the problem.
