NetBackup: Listing the available backup in SAP does not show any backup

We are try to list all the available backup images but it showed empty.

The command we use:

(using oracle ID: oraprd)

$ backint –u PRD –p $ORACLE_HOME/dbs/initPRD.utl –i /tmp/input.txt –f  inquire

It showed:

********************************************************************************

Program:                backint 7.6

Input File:             /tmp/input.txt

Profile:                /oracle/PRD/121_64/dbs/initPRD.utl

Function:               INQUIRE

********************************************************************************

********************************************************************************

The SAP agent is version NB 7.6 (I know it is not supported anymore), the Master is NB  8 (It was working before we update the master to NB 8)

What it went wrong?

Thank you,

Iwan

Hello,

is it possible to upgrate the client, too? At least to NBU 7.7.3 which is supported (you did not mean which platform it is and thus which NBU can be installed).

If problem will persist then open a support ticket, this is a very specific issue.

Rgds,

Michal

Hi All,

I have escalated to Veritas, lucky me they still wanted to support me  (with NBU 7.6 client The master already version 8.0.

He touched/created the followinng file:

/usr/openv/netbackup/db/altnames/No.Restrictions

Then it was running fine.

Regards,

Iwan Tamimi

If No.Restrictions did not exist before the upgrade, then only list/restore from source client would work.

The restrictions as far as list/restore from a different host has always been in NBU.
The upgrade has nothing to do with this.
