I checked google and found this article but it is for 7.5.0.7, is it applicable to 7.6 also ?

https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.000115007

Any help to resolve this would be appreicated.

I can't upgrade to 8.

Can someone from Symantec help here and provide there valuable feedback.

No, but someone from Veritas can ;0)

The issue potentially affects 7.6 and above upto 8.0

Given that, in my opinion anyway, that is quite an unusual error, and from your logs it matchs, safe to say you are affected.

I can't get into the etrack system at the moment for some reason, it should be bak available later and I can check if there is an EEB for 7.6.

Failing that, you would have to log a call and request an EEB.  Engineering will generally only release EEBs for supported versions so you might need to upgrade to a supported version, and request an EEB for that version. However, we may well find EEBs eist for a various versions already.  I'll check when the eTrack system becomes available.

OK, I've got into the eTrack system -  the EEB is only released for 7.5.0.7

You will need to log a call I'm afraid, and request an EEB.  Can you upgrade to .7.x ?  - as mentioned, it is very difficult to get EEBs for versons of NBU out-of-support.

Thanks for the reply Martin, ya Veritas now by default Symantec comes in mind :) .I am already on 7.6.0.4 and unfortunately Vertias contact for this NBU environment is expired. So only option is to upgrade to version 8 ?

Any other tweak here to get me out of this ?

Not that I can see I'm afraid.

Please check if you have logging directories "logs" & "jobs" for your id under Netbackup\logs\user_ops\yourid . Please review the Netbackup\logs\admin logs for more on this error. Also check if you find session directories under Netbackup\bin\Vault\ , if you have logs moved to different drive make sure you have above mentioned directories at both locaions.

I would also check the NetBackup license status for Vault.

Hi Martin,

Will upgrade to 7.7.x  help in this case (to be supported) if one cannot upgrade to 8.0 now?

Thanks!

No it is not creating those logs as it is not starting the vault job itself.

I got a nice workaround which I just tested and working for me. Whoever is having this issue please give it a try.

Create a Vaul policy and associate it with vault profile, the way we schedule a vult for eject or duplication. Create a schedule and no need to create the window for it. Just run the policy manually.

Eg: In selection

E:\VERITAS\NetBackup\bin\vltrun 0/duplication/duplication.
