NetBackup for Oracle / License key

perez_cmz

I'm in the process of implementing "NetBackup for Oracle" into an existing Netbackup infrastructure. I've downloaded the "Veritas NetBackup for Oracle Administrator's Guide", and had a question about the license key.

I took a look at the license keys on my master server, and don't see something that says "NetBackup for Oracle". Is that the name of the license I should be looking for ?

Any help is greatly appreciated

The license that you need is  NetBackup Application and Database Pack.

In verbose bpminlicense output you should see something like this:

Feature ID      = 38 Sybase extension +
Feature ID      = 37 Informix extension +
Feature ID      = 36 Oracle extension +
Feature ID      = 35 Lotus Notes extension +
Feature ID      = 34 DB2 extension +
Feature ID      = 33 MS SQL Server extension +
Feature ID      = 32 MS Exchange extension +

The license that you need is  NetBackup Application and Database Pack.

Feature ID      = 34 DB2 extension +
Feature ID      = 33 MS SQL Server extension +
Feature ID      = 32 MS Exchange extension +

I see the "Feature ID      = 36 Oracle extension +" from the command line on my master server, but do not see "NetBackup Application and Database Pack" from the license key export.

Does this mean that I have the license I need for "NetBackup for Oracle" ?

Yes if you see the oracle extension, you have the correct licensing.

When you create a new policy, do you see Oracle in Policy Type selection?
You will only see DB type policy options if you have a valid license on the Master

Yes, I see Oracle as an option under the policy type drop down. Thank you
