NetBackup not detecting the tapes

alexking

Hi all,

Some tapes were inserted in to the library, netbackup console couldn't detect these tapes in media. Just some tapes have this issue, most of others are OK. Already tried to reboot the server / re-inerting these tapes in different slots.

C:\Program Files\Veritas\Volmgr\bin\tldtest.exe -rn 0 -r {7,7,0,1}

@alexking

Have you tried to run Inventory & Update in the GUI?

Please remove that cleaning cartridge from your backup pool and reconfig as hcart clean in NONE pool.

Please show us output of:
nbemmcmd -listmedia -mediaid 0800L4.
(command is in ...netbackup/bin/admincmd)

Something seems to be wrong here - have you manually moved tapes around?
Your opening post shows that there is nothing in slot 13 and 000800L4 in slot 15?

slot 13 (addr 1013) contains Cartridge = no
....
slot 15 (addr 1015) contains Cartridge = yes
Source address = 1015
Barcode = 000800L4

I would move all the tapes in the library to 'standalone'

Select the tapes in the GUI, (shift-click the first and last to seect all in one go)
Right click -> Move

Make sure that 'Volume is in a robotic library' is NOT selecetd -> Click ok

All media should move to 'None robotic'

Re-run the inventory.
