Hi, I would like to ask if netbackup need the port number 10001, 10002 and 10085 open?
We are planning to disable the ports, it will affect the backup or any services?

Hi Jjiminez2,
Thanks for that. There was no Network Ports guide released for 7.7.3, so the 7.7.2 one still applies. I purposely ignored those ports which are for PureDisk 6.6 or later, a seperate and now obsolete product - I know, I used to use it - and I figured you wouldn't be using it. Do you actually see those ports open anywhere, or traffic going accross them? I highly doubt it.
I'm not sure if you also have any NetBackup Appliances in your environment? Just in case, I've reviewed network ports for those and here is a link to the 2.7.3 Appliance Security Guide:

See section 9 in the above link for appliance ports.

Hi Jjiminez2,
You should be ok to shut those ports down.
You don't say what version of NetBackup you're running, but I've reviewed the Network Ports Guide for 7.7.2, as well as 8.1.1. None of the three ports you're interested are listed - so you should be good to go.
Here is a link to the Network Ports Guide for 7.7.2 for your reference:

Hope this helps,
Steve

Actually im not sure on the port number 10085. It used in processes any queries on data selections. This port should be open only on metabase engine.
