HI,
Upgrading NetBackup 6.0 mp4 to 7.  hang at the /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/nbdbms_start_stop start   phase, after that the upgrade failed and the database validation alos failed.
Is there any hotfix or way to solve this isuue.

Thanks,
Amin

Did it actually fail or did you break out of the installation?
Best if you log a Sev 1 call with Symantec support at this point.
The upgrade portal contains a link to how to back out of failed upgrade:
http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/332137.htm

Also have a look at this thread:
https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/netbackup-70-installation-and-upgrade-issues

Extract:

"when upgrading from 6.x to 7.x the DB conversion that takes place can take up to 1hour per 100gb Catalog (Symantec support quoted this time)

So be patient when doing your upgrades as to not break the catalog."

Try to upgrade up to 6.5 first and to 7.0 after that
