Netapp VFiler backup

HI All,

What will be the backup selection for the share created in Vfiler? We are able to backup filer through NDMP and I don’t see NDMP commands listed in Vfiler

We have NetBackup 7.6.01 in our environment.

The Backup selection will be the volpath you have to the vfiler. You can find this with OnCommand.

As per Data ONTAP 8.2 Multistore Management Guide for 7-mode, VERITAS(aquired by Symantec) is not supported on vfiler NDMP server. Backup through default vfiler (vfiler0) instead.

VERITAS NDMP management commands are not supported in the individual vfiler unit context. These commands must be executed on the storage system.

Do I have to add the volume path or the way we add the Share path normally?

also do I need to add the add Vfiler under Media and Device Management > Credentials > NDMP Hosts.

Same statement exists in Multistore Management Guide for Data ONTAP 8.0 7-mode and 7.3.
