Netbackup 7.0 Consistency Checks by customers

What is best practice for validating the Netbackup environment for the customer?  Had we not run an NBCC we would not have known about the Images DB and the EMM DB being out of sync.  However, the NBCC is not a tool for the customer to review.  You have to send it to support for them to analyze.

As a coustomer,  I run NBCC before and after patches.

If anything is wrong I send that output file to my support guys, who them come back and tell me I have to fix something. and usually send me back a file that when run applies the fixes.

( My issue is that I have to remember to remove any links I have in db/images before I run the NBCC.)

I personally will not allow clients to run maintenance tasks on the DB -

Thats why we have maintenance contracts, keeping salespersons smiling.

Hand the client the tools and soon there will be no engineers with certification....
