Hi all,

I have netbackup Enterprise 7.1 on Linux and Exchange 2010 server as client on windows 2008.

What I have done:

1 Installed Netbackup client on exchange server. ( I skip NFS server config as I dont use GRT)

2  Added account for netbackup client service on AD, made it member of groups : "Organization Management" "Administrators" "Domain Admins"

3 On Exchange server assigned created account(above) for netbackup client service logon

4 Restarted netbackup client service

5 Created  mailbox acoount for netbackup user (as above) on Exchange server.

6 created test mailboxes. tried to send receive mails from each other, everything works.

7 created policy for exchange :  - Policy Type: MS-Exchange-Server ;  - Enable "Perform Snapshot Backup" box -> Sellect Snapshot Method:VSS

    - Backup Sellection: Microsoft Information Store:\

8 Run manual backup. Took backup with SUCCESS.

So the issue came here. what I have done:

1 deleted mails that are in my test users folders (created above)

2 Enabled in  properties of mailbox database in Exchange management console : "This database can be overwritten by a restore"

3 Enabled -  "Dismount databse prior to restore" on netbackup restore option

4 Enabled - On General TAB select "Restore everything to original location"

5 Run restore

It proceeded it with SUCESS

1) just to confirm, you took the backup first right ? 2) I see the restore of the database and logs are done successfully but i do not see anythig related to applying the logs to the database after the database restore.. 2cents from me.

Did you select all log files when doing the restore? Did you select a Rollforward recovery to replay all of the logs? Did you select to commit after last backup set is restored?
