Netbackup 7.5 on SQL 2012 virtual machines with always on

Hi,

Is it possible to have 2 Vmware vms both running SQL 2012 with databases in an AlwaysOn Availability Group and simply point Netbackup to the availability group listener?

When you create an availability group, you can specify backup preferences for each copy. I'd like to know if Netbackup can backup according to the listener and availability group preferences or whether Netbackup specifically needs to be pointed at a SQL instance?

Thanks

Seems this will not be possible (for now).

See NBU Agent CL: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH126904

1. "Always On/Availability Groups" are not supported at this time.

Thanks Marianne,

Ok, Netbackup 7.5 supports SQL Server 2012, but maybe not the listener.

I take it, that backing up SQL Server 2012 databases involved in availability groups would simply work by pointing the backup job at a particular server and instance?

Hello,

We have a similar issue, but in our case we want to backup the stand by node, this node is a mirror of the original active node.
We make a test but the ends with this error:
