Netbackup 7.7.1 with Sharepoint and Always on Availability Groups

Hello.

I am having trouble with backing up Sharepoint through an MS-Sharepoint policy.

My Master Server is 7.7.1 running on Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise  (Same for Media Server)

The Sharepoint Front End Server is Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter (With 7.7.1 Netbackup Client).

The Database Servers are running on Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter, SQL Server 2012 and running on an Always on Availability Group. (Netbackup 7.7.1 Client)

I'm not 100% sure that Availability Groups are supported with the Sharpoint backups.  The Sharepoint docs say

"NetBackup supports clustering of a back-end SQL Server in a Windows Server
Failover Clustering (WSFC) environment."  which is the case with the Always on Availability Group so i presume it is fine.

The Sharepoint application connects to the Availability Group Listener which then points to the Primary node of the cluster.
When trying to run the backup (whether GRT or not) it fails with status 13 File read error on the AGListener\database_names\

I ran the troubleshoot tool found on the Symantec site (SPCT.exe) on the front end server and it also complains as follows

"

Checking Configurations for Backend Server : AGListener
Connecting to remote server : AGListener
Could not connect to remote server : AGListener

Error ID : 183 :: Error Message : Cannot create a file when that file already exists.

Please verify if are able to ping the machine.
Please check if remote registry service is enabled, failing which the bakcups can fail with stauts 13 or status 71.

"

I am able to ping the machine.  I have started the remote registry service.

I have followed all the other steps from the docs to the best of my knowledge.

There is one other highlighted part from the troubleshoot tool.

-- Checking Distributed Application Restore Mapping.
Could not read the value : SPS_REDIRECT_ALLOWED.

Error ID : 183 :: Error Message : Cannot create a file when that file already exists.

Could not locate Distributed Application Restore Mapping.

Suggested Distributed Application Restore Mapping for this SharePoint Farm.

        Application Host            Component Host
This appears to be a standalone installation of SharePoint.

Can anyone offer any advice?  Does this work with Always on Availability Groups?

Thanks

Phil

Hello,

VERITAS support usually does not inform about road maps / feature plans etc.

A Veritas presale representative / product manager will be better.
