Netbackup 7.7.2 Security Certificates

Hi everyone,

 

Wondering if anyone has upgraded to netbackup 7.7.2.  if so question regarding certificates. There is a message in the release notes specifying that clients on 7.7.2 need to have certificates installed to be able to perform the backups and restores.  So does this mean all clients must be upgraded to 7.2.2?  Will older clients work with this new version? Has anyone had any expericence deploying or adding certificates to the hosts?  Can you share your experience of upgrading to 7.7.2?  Thank you.

The certificates are recommended but not required for the backup/recovery.

But for connecting to Netbackup host using Netbackup admin console it is mandatory.

The certificates are issued by certificate authority on master server.

A clear procedure on how to issue and deploy certificates on hosts is documented in admin guide I for Netbackup 7.7.2
