Netbackup 8.1 java console exit status 526: bpjava authentication service connection failed

drooks

I have a new installation of NetBackup 8.1 on a rhel 7 server (VM).  Trying to connect with the Java Console from my PC and I'm getting a 526: bpjava authentication service connection failed error.  The Network guys/gals are seeing the traffic  from my pc to the master server over port 1556 completing and nothing is being blocked. I tried with my login and with root and both had the same result. I have myself with full permissions in the auth.conf file.

Any ideas?  I have a case open with Veritas tech support, just wondering if anybody out here can throw in their two cents while I wait.

pbx is running:

The issue has been fixed.  Turned out there was a firewall running on the RHEL 7 server that the admin didn't know about.

From the Linux admin:

"FYI, I discovered a ‘firewalld.service’ running on the server (which apparently was included in the RHEL 7 DVD installation). When I stopped and disabled the service, GUI console connection worked."
