My current config:
Netbackup version: 9.1.0.1
Master OS: Redhat 8.5Media Server OS: Redhat 8.5
I'm trying to test Netbackup Instant Access in a lab setup and am getting an error.
The activity log is showing:Dec 15, 2021 8:51:40 AM - Error NBWMC (pid=11437) ParserError for VM name <MY_VM_NAME>
Failed to create an instant access virtual machine (VM).(4004)
In the WebGui Under the 'Instant Access Virtual Machine' tab I see:ParserError for VM name <MY_VM_NAME>
I did find a support KB article: 100049622 but it only references up to Netbackup 9.0.
I'm not sure where to look next. Anyone have any thoughts/suggestions?

Hi @sirius_sam
What vSphere version are you using?
And have you checked that you have all the prerequisites that are required (refer to the WebUI VMware admin guide chapter on Instant access?
Cheers

That is a sore subject with me. The documentation is lacking to say the least.
Here is what was in the prereq's:
I believe everything is satisfied.
In my environment, my data network and my storage network are two different network spaces that are not routed. As far as I can tell, NetBackup notifies vCenter that the vSphere host should NFS mount the media server. When I go through the VMware | Recovery | Create Instant Access Recovery virtual machine the ESXi host that is selected is the FQDN for the data network, not the storage network. I can't figure out how to tell NBU to use the storage network for the NFS mount.

If you use vSphere >= 7 than instant access is not supported:
• NetBackup Instant access is not supported with VMware vSphere 7.0 U1, 7.0 U2 and 7.0 U3 on NetBackup 9.0, 9.0.0.1, 9.1, 9.1.0.1
