Hello All,

I am figuring to find out how i can configure the AIR in my envirnoment.

We have a Clustered Master Server v 7.7.2 (LINUX) and using DD using OST.

Can you please let me know from where i can check if we have a adequoate license to use AIR.

Also please share links for some guides or manuals for configuring Replication.

Thanks in Advance.

There is no additional license needed to config AIR. If you are using DD with OST, then you have sufficient license.

AIR is covered in NBU Admin Guide I. Links to manuals in Handy NBU Links in my signature.
There is also a White Paper on EMC web site.

Thanks for your response.

Request you to also let me know what are the benefits of making trusted connection between source and target master servers?

Hi

You need a trust relationship in order to import/export catalog data.

I believe this normally comes in with Puredisk or the Netbackup appliances.

CRASH COURSE for NBU AIR with DD

With the DataDomains you'll be using ddboost associations. Which you'll setup on both DataDomains using the ddboost command. Do this before adding the Disk pools to ensure the get picked up as Source/Target pools when it comes to disk pool creation.

Then you only specify the Replication directive when it comes to SLP. DataDomain will know what to do with it.
