Netbackup Client 7.5

Hi , does Client 7.5.0.6 supported on Master Netbackup 7.1 ? I'm trying to find a workaround to take backups for windows 2012 running on 7.1 Master server without upgrading the Master server.

Unfortunately not supported.  I'm not aware of any workaround for NetBackup.

Does Windows 2012 have it's own backup program?  Perhaps you could script somethign to backup to a NAS device or a share on a server (which itself is running NetBackup Client v7.1) and then use that older server to backup a copyof the backup that Windows 2012 wrote?

7.1 master can only backup 7.1.x.x and lower clients. Why can you not upgrade the master? No valid maintenance contract? This is exactly why you need to keep maintenance up to date - ongoing support, access to latest features, fixes and support for new OS and db versions. PS : Please plan for upgrade to version 7.7.x as all 7.x versions up to 7.6.x will reach EOSL in Feb 2017 - a year from now.

Sorry - no supported.

As workaround you can zip files on the Win2012 system, and then copy them to a client supported by NBU 7.1

Not nice or elegant - but that is the nature of workarounds.

The workaround is......upgrade your Master server and media servers :)
