Netbackup DLO with Win 7 x64

Hi All,

i have searched in the forums but havent find any solution so far. I have win7 with 64 bits and netbackup DLO 6.1 MP5a and everytime i start it i get these messages TASKPANE_HISTORY, TASKPANE_STATUS, TASKPANE_SYNC, TASKPANE_RESTORE and it asks me if i want to save it or open a program online to open it.

any ideas?

but they are old(ish) & reference Microsoft documents that no longer exist:

which basically say "Download and install the latest version of MSXML."

Unfortunately the solutions given in that forum does not work. This solutions seem to work for win XP but for win 7 64 bits no, which is my case.

I have tried:

install msxml6_x64.msi and then SP2 msxml6-KB973686-enu-x86.exe

Then i tried to register:

regsvr32  msxml.dll (failed)

regsvr32 msxml1.dll (failed)

regsvr32 msxml22.dll (failed)

regsvr32 msxml3.dll (ok)

regsvr32 msxml4.dll (failed)

I took a look in windows\system32 and they only have  msxml3.dll,msxml3r.dll,msxml6.dll,msxml6r.dll

With this info i tried to register msxml3.dll,msxml3r.dll,msxml6.dll,msxml6r.dll. They worked then i rebooted BUT the problem is still there.

any ideas?

The Admin Console is supported on DLO 6.1 MP5A and DLO 6.1 MP6.

DLO DLO Desktop Agent is supported on DLO 6.1 MP5A, DLO 6.1 MP6 32-Bit and DLO 6.1 MP6 64-Bit, subject to these notes:

Note: 2. 64-bit DLO Agent is installed on 64-bit Windows Vista and Windows 7 if and only if the Agent machine's default mail client is 64-bit Microsoft Outlook 2010. In all other cases the Desktop Agent will install and run on 64-bit platform in 32-bit compatibility mode.

Note: 3. The default installation path of the Agent during installation in 64-bit machines remains C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\NetBackup DLO\DLO irrespective of 32-bit or 64-bit DLO Agent getting installed. Users can install the DLO Agent to other folders of their choice by changing the path during installation.
