Kisad

Hello Friends,

I need a bit of help. Trying to  give a user account resctricted access to Netbackup environment through the java gui on a windows client server. I have created and updated the auth.conf file on the master server however the java console is loading up all the tabs/options. What am I missing ?

Netbackup version 7.6.0.3 on Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise 64 Bit

auth.conf file location on master: D:\Program Files\VERITAS\NetBackup\Java

auth.conf file content on master: <username>  ADMIN=JBP JBP=ENDUSER+BAR

Thank you

Which tabs do you want them to have? By the look of the config, just the BAR tabs.

Have you tried recreating the auth.conf ?

Take a look at this technote "About authorizing nonroot users for specific applications" which may help

http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO106137

Make sure the user is running java and not the admin console.

Mark revaroo as solution.

Your option ENDUSER is not valid. Read the technote.

From the technote:

For example, to give a user (user1) access only to the Device Monitor and Activity Monitor, add the following entry to theauth.conf file:

user1 ADMIN=DM+AM
NetBackup 9.1.0.1 on Solaris 11, writing to Data Domain 9800 7.7.4.0
duplicating via SLP to LTO5 & LTO8 in SL8500 via ACSLS

Will_Restore
Level 6

ENDUSER

Allows the users to perform restore tasks from true image or regular backups plus redirected restores.
