Netbackup Licensing for SAP on Oracle

Hi,

We are running NetBackup 7 and wish to claify our licensing requirements around NetBackup agents for an SAP environment on Oracle.

We run the SAP application on an AIX P750 (dual sockets), and the Oracle backend on a Linux C-Class blade (single socket).

So we have to purchase an "Netbackup Application and Database pack", as well as a "Netbackup SAP license"?

Or does the SAP license cover our oracle databases?

I uncovered the following document on google and it would appear you are correct.

Unfortunately that ppt doc does not contain the explanation and details that are contained in the official licensing guide (only available to Symantec partners and employees).

The way I read the NBU for SAP manual is that only the SAP license is required.

Oracle databases can be backed up using SAP BR backup and recovery commands.
