Netbackup Restore error 5

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to restore some files, but if I try to restore to different location than original, it gives me error 5, even before it start restoring.

Anyone knows how to solve this?

NetBackup 7.5 in a Red Hat.

can you please provide us more details like

Type of restore,backed up client details like version,os along with the restoring client details and

job detail status

Status 5 is a generic error saying that the restore has failed. This means that we need more info....

Please show us all text in Details tab of Activity Monitor as well as all text in 'View Status' tab of the BAR GUI.

It will be great if you could post screenshots of your restore steps as well.

If I restore to the same location, it works, but to alternate location, does not.

As Marianne and sir vani requested, we will need the detailed status of the failed job. Please reply with that here if you can. 

I also see your Policy type is VM but your doing a file level restore, do you have the NetBackup client installed on the VM guest?

is netbackup installed on tcp* ..Unless a NetBackup client is installed on the virtual machine U cant perform restore on VM.

what are the OS and NB versions for source and destinations.

please send us the activity detailed failed job status.

as per screen shosts you are using the backup archive & restore window  and also restore job did not even started.

does you Master is in Unix or windows...

Did you open the backup archive restore window as run as adminstrator?

open the backup archive & restore window as  Run as Adminstrator

  also try starting the retsore job from java console.
