Netbackup Restore

Hello guys,

I have this client with this problem and this is how his Netbackup environment looks like.

Netbackup 6.5 console is  sitting on a windows server 2003 machine.

The Netbackup machine backs up both windows and Linux machines.

On the Linux machine is where the oracle database is installed.

After doing a successful backup of the oracle database, when he tries to do a redirect restore on another Linux machine, it does not go through.

What could be the problem, any idea.

Has anyone done this kind of restore?

Restore must be initiated from destination client after taking steps on the master to allow this.

The process is clearly documented in NBU 6.5 for Oracle Unix/Linux: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH52816 under the following topic:

Redirecting a restore to a different client

I assumes U R backing up  Oracle DB with RMAN ....

You may need to edit new host name in to restore script.

to remove connectivity issue, take file level backup with new host,

kindly check RMAN out files for more details on client

also check bphdb logs on client
