Hi all,

Please your help, we have a HPE StoreOnce 3520 integrated to a physical media server with NBU 8.0 on a SAN fabric.  We are backuping via LAN all virtual machines without problems (some problems with snapshots, but this is another issue), We need to execute the VM backups via SAN to StoreOnce. We need present the Datastores to some NBU component? Media server, storeonce, etc...

Thanks for your opinions

Hi

You need to zone the storage LUN's and map the datastores to Backup host which is generally the media server.

Note : DO NOT mount these LUN's on this server.

Hi, thanks, the LUN was presented to the media server (it has attached the StoreOnce), but I have the same error

Also, I presented the datastore to StoreOnce for its initiator FC port and I have the same error...

Any ideas?

Which OS is the media server?
Is the lun visible at OS level?
Was lun mapping done at array level in addition to zoning?

Hi Marianne, thanks,

Which OS is the media server? Windows 2008 R2  Std
Is the lun visible at OS level? Yes (attached image)

Was lun mapping done at array level in addition to zoning?Yes, we have a HP P2000 Storage Array

The devices also are detected at device manager level (similar to Archive Python) (attached image)

Regards!

Your second attachment shows Disk 1 as offline!

Hi

Makesure how many LUNS are assigned to BIN-VCT01 in Vmware and all those luns must be map to Media server.

Rahul

Hi, Yes, this LUN was offine, but we shift to online but we have the same result... SAN transport fails.

We have only one LUN presented to ESXi, and the same LUN is presented to the media server.

Do you think that we have an missed configuration?

The procedure was:

Zoning between media server and Storeonce

Install NBU as media server

Install HPE StoreOnce Plugin

Configure NBU (OST Disk Pool, Storage Unit)

Backup testing at level file and VMware via LAN

Present the VMware Datastore LUN to media server.

Regards!

As I remember, LUN must be offline - https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2002227
