Netbackup and TSM Client in same server

Hello,

pls help me with this query , I have netbackup client software and TSM client installed on the same server , reason being, TSM would be used for backuping up the client  and netbackup is used only for restore as part of a migration which would be completed soon , will they affect each other ,,like any configuration or ports

the project am working for had a Netbackup envoirment and they are seprating their data using restores via netbackup on this perticular server , their current backup sotware is TSM which they have started to use now ,, but we have to do some more netbackup restores to complete the data migration , will Netbackup client (not being used for backups)conflict with TSM

from ur 2nd post it is clear u still hav NBU n TSM in same system
both symantec n IBM recommends no other backup software should be installed it may effect performance.

what specific issues could i face ,,as i just need the netbackup client to finish some restores ,, backups are running using TSM right now. would i face any issues during the netbackup restore

problem will arise when both application are using for backup.

Reason : -suppose  if TSM is taking backup (suppose incremental, OS will refelct the archive bit status of files) this will effect the other application(Netbackup) and files backed up may vary, vice-versa. So there should be only one application for backup. In your case Netbackup is using for Restore purpose, there will be no problem.

complete ur migration activity ASAP
then remove NBU from server make sure u hav also removed all registry entries.
