Hello all,

I have an issue, about a backup fails with 156 ,

i've split the backup ( allow mulitple data stream ) at least to have the other drives' data backuped up ,

i've tried all things, almost everything, the vss admin list writers and providers to see if there's a problem, reboot the server, the w2koption, the VSS on WOFB , but still fails , here's the detailled status :

ERR - Volume resolution error for (System State:\System Files\System Files) seems to indicate the problem is with the snapshot of system state.

Have found the blog below helpful in identifying the precise problem/issue

https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/askcore/2010/06/18/reasons-why-the-error-enumeration-of-the-file...

My guess would be a malformed service path or in case of a cluster a service place on one of the shared disks

The standard questions: Have you checked: 1) What has changed. 2) The manual 3) If there are any tech notes or VOX posts regarding the issue

The attached logs are both for bpbkar. You need the bpfis log to investigate a status 156 (snapshot error).

Please state the following on queries such as this:

- NetBackup version
- Policy type and options

Hi Micheal_G_Ander,

thank you for your reply,

i have checked , nothing has changed, i've read and applied the tech notes and the vox posts regarding the issue, the main solution was the command w2koption, but it doesn't work, and also another technote about the registry key

Hello Lowell_Palecek ,

thanks for your reply,

yes my mistake , ihave enabled the log again,

for the netbackup version: 7.7.2 on master and on the client : 7.7.2 too;

policy type : MS-WINDOWS

OPTIONS :

Bare metal restore : activated

Allow multiple data streams : ACTIVATED ( to have others drives'data backuped up )

Backup selection : ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES

thats all , and as i said, on master props, the client is configured on the WOFB with the VSS option .
