0   HP.ULTRIUM4-SCSI.000 hcart  TLD(0)  DRIVE=2

      /dev/rmt/2cbn                                                    UP

      /dev/rmt/3cbn                                                    UP

You can either use the Devices section of the GUI to right-click on the drive and select Delete. Else, use tpconfig command. On Solaris tpconfig is a text-based menu that you can use to list the drives and then delete the relevant tape drive.

I would suggest to look at OS system logs to see if any errors reported...

You can also try to re-run the wizard to configure devices and see if it works

I find it easiest to delete removed tape drive and re-add it using the Device Config wizard.

If you don't know how to delete a tape drive, then probably best to follow sdo's TN.

Deleting all devices from a media server

I would be careful with this one.  You may not want to delete all devices, as you may have some disk pools.  My advice would be to read the commands reference manual, and look at the tpconfig command and use that to delete the specific tape drive devices.

.

...and then use this to re-configure the tape drives:
