There is lot documentation on Hyper-V and WMware but not for Oracle VM.

Can we take SAN base backup for Oracle VM using Netbackup.. If yes pls share the link / dcument from Netnackup or Oracle...

No specific option for Oracle VM, like "NetBackup for Oracle VM".
Please consider other method like below.

  • Install NetBackup client on each VM, and take backup via LAN as well as physical host .
  • Dump or backup VM using Oracle VM tools(if exist), and take backup of dumped data.

The SAME document that we shared in your other posts regarding VM backups (e.g. https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/master-server-and-media-servers-vitual-servers ) will also apply to Oracle VM.

For SAN backups, you need the Oracle server to be a media server. If your 'SAN' devices are disk, you can use them as described in TECH127089.

Another option to have SAN backups is to use Snapshot Client option. You will need a full volume hardware based snapshot or VxVM snapshot that can be imported on a media server to backup directly to SAN. See NBU Snapshot Client Admin Guide    http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC3661

The Oracle VM is based on a Redhat kernel, or at least it was so you can probably use the same Netbackup for Oracle VM as a Redhat VM. For the Oracle database you will have to use the VM freeze scripts to get a consistent backup of it. see http://pubs.vmware.com/vsphere-50/index.jsp?topic=/com.vmware.datarecovery.admin.doc_20/GUID-6F33944...
