Hi there,
I have a setup for nbu 7 master server & a separate media server over win2008 server. for vmware environemt, netbackup master server has been made the vmware backup host. Most of the backups are working fine and there was no issue reported till last week. But suddenly we got with hanging issue of vCenter during the backup time. and so the admin has to kill backups and restart nbu master/media server. after that vCenter became available. I want to troubleshoot this issue but in bpVMutil logs , there's nothing concrete. Can anyone guide me to how to troubleshoot vmware backup issues?
I want to know about one another thing, after changing any thing in the Vmware Flash-Windows policy, the validating window takes too long. I didnot know whats wrong with the netbackup and eventually I open nbu console again and find the change already done. I need to know why Validationg Policy window takes too long. your suggestions are required.

I engaged symantec support and we didnot find any thing solid from there , in the parallel , we engaged vmware supprt and they found some bug related to vmware network card performance. they provide the fixes and so far things are working. so what i learnt here is to engage both support , only on symantec may not be able to solve it when it comes to integration with other softwares/application

in the meantime delete the VC credentials (don't forget the emm) and use root credentials to every ESX server.

Glad to hear things are resolved.
Below is a link to the discussion of a similar issue I had encountered which boiled down to having the required VCentre credentials rather than the credentials for the ESX Host as in my environment we have some stanalone Hosts & some managed by VC!

All the best.
