Netbackup is Trying to Backup CD and Floppy Drives.

Hi All,

We have Solaris 10 Master Running on Netbackup 5.1. MP6

I have a created a policy for a new client, as per the Custom requirement ALL LOCAL DRIVES needs to be backed up. The Policy was created with all "ALL LOCAL DRIVES" attribute selected in the file selection.

The problem is Netbackup is attempting to back up CD & FLOPPY Drives each in a separate stream. The Backup too got completed with Status Code: 1.

Then, I went ahead & excluded the CD & FLOPPY DRIVES. Now, as a reward for my troubleshooting backup completed with Status Code: 0

What may be problem, we have similar Linux client with similar Hardware configuration which are backed up under different policies successfully.

Please consider the urgency & advice at the earliest.

Regards,

Mouli S.C

It is rather odd. As far as I know in this case NetBackup backs up hard drives only. Try to restart Netbackup client on that client.

or you can exclude them under your exclude list, not te best practice but it will work.

It sounds like the differing handling of the floppy and CD drives are caused by the mountpoints or drivers being used.
