Netbackup is not suppporting 32 bit Oracle 10gR2 on Sun Solaris x86 64 bit

Hi,

I'm new to this Forum and also Netbackup. We have procured VERITAS Netbackup version 6.5. Our Oracle 10g Release 2 (32 bit) 10.2.0.2 RAC database is running on Sun Solaris 10 X86 (64-bit) OS.

When we try to validate the agent we got error message like “libobk.so could not be loaded”.

db1@-bash-3.00$sbttest orcl1 --- this test is the initial test to validate the agent.
The sbt function pointers are loaded from oracle.static library.
libobk.so could not be loaded. Check that it is installed

Could any one of you please suggest the solution for our problem?

-Thanks....

You cannot use NetBackup for Oracle client - 32-bit Oracle never was supported with Solaris 10 x86

See the DB Agent Compatibility list:
exftpp.symantec.com/pub/support/products/NetBackup_Enterprise_Server/279048.pdf

Just ask your DBA to dump DB to disk and pick it from there using regular (file-level) NBU client.
