Hi Nicolai,

hi @chethan2365

I think you are best off consulting Veritas or a reseller to get the best possible answer.

Hi Nicolai,

I had a call with  Veritas and they don't require any additional licese for installing NetBackup on VM , all they require is valid base Netbackup license.

Thanks,

Chethan N

Correct, a "license" does not need to be physically installed inside a client that is a guest VM, but this is missing the point.

I think you need to read the NetBackup Licensing Guide:

https://sort.veritas.com/DocPortal/pdf/NBU82_Licensing_Guide

...because there is potential to make some very costly mistakes when making assumptions.

@chethan2365

Master and/or Media server license requirement is based on OS and amount of CPU's.
No difference between virtual and physical.
For Virtual, it will be vcpu.

You need to confirm that you have the correct Tier and OS. tiers.JPG

If you have a valid license, it does not matter if it is a VM.
