Netbackup 7.5 will be out of support by February 2017. You should take a look at Netbackup 7.7 instead.

What help you need from the community to create a lab ?

Please share some more details ...

There is no vm image available that will provide you with a lab, you need to built a lab yourself. The local Veritas can however provide you with a 60 days demo license.

Raghav, it's very easy to start if you have an access to the NetBackup distributive and evaluation key. You can simply download install+admin guides and you're ready to go. If you  expect  official courses and evaluation keys from us, then you'll be disappointed. Only Veritas reseller can provide you with the key but if you're just a random guy who's interested in learning it would be challenging. If you just need advice when you're always welcome :)

And if you want to test tape functionality, then this may help:

and here's a video showing NetBackup Server being installed as a NetBackup Master Server:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGmesNhC6oo

.

FYI - when you install NetBackup Master Server role, it already includes eveything required to also be a "Media Server" too, i.e. any Master Server can always be a Master / Media Server.  There is no setting as such, or switch to make a Master Server in to a Master / Media Server, basically if you configure any target "storage unit" (to which you will write backups) on a Master Server then if notionally becomes in effect a Master / Media Server.

Oh, and all NetBackup Server installations (i.e. Master Server or Media Server) always include an instance of NetBackup Client.  So, if you install Master Server, and configure some storage units, then your server becomes a Master / Media / Client install.  And so you can start testing backups and restores right away, with just one server.

Oh, and with v7.7.x onwards, then any install of NetBackup Server on Windows always also install the NetBackup Java Admin Console too.

Take Nicolai's advice, and learn with v7.7.x.
