Netbackup scheduled policy runs twice a day

Hi,

I have a VMware backup policy that writes to the netbackup appliance. The policy schedule is as below:

Full backup - WEEKLY_FULL - Saturday 01:00 to 24:00 (Frequency is 1 week)

Incremental - DAILY _ DIFF - Sunday 01:00 to 16:00 & Monday to Friday 12:10 to 16:00   (Frequency is 1 day)

I noticed that the DAILY_DIFF schedule that runs from Monday to Friday 12:10 to 16:00 runs twice a day. But the same schedule which has the window 01:00 to 16:00 on Sunday do not have this issue.! Also the WEEKLY_FULL backup schedule runs normally.

Please let me know if there are any other settings in netbackup that makes the policy schedule to run two times.

Sorry, there is a correction in the window time:

Incremental - DAILY _ DIFF - Sunday 01:00 to 16:00 & Monday to Friday 00:10 to 16:00   (Frequency is 1 day)

And the second time the backup runs at 12:10 (that is, exactly after 12 hours)

Hi Ajeesh,

NetBackup does not inherit backup history accross policies. Can you post the outputs of

bppllist <policy-name> -U

nbpemreq -predict -date <mm/dd/yyyy HH:MM:SS>

In general, nbpemreq -updatepolicies running this command will update all your policies so let me know if you find scheduler issues..
