Hello,

NetBackup service not running on windows clients after reboot. a manual start for the service is required

How can I make NetBackup service run automatically after reboot ?

Are the NBU services set in the Manual mode, in the services console? If yes, change it to automatic and they should automatically start after a reboot.

it is set to automatic but the backup is failing with 58 status.

when I start it manually , the backup go fine !!

If the services on the client are not running, then the status 58 is expected. Do you see the NBU services stopping when the server is online because of which you reboot the server?

Look for AV software killing NBU processes and/or any other type of security software.
McAfee is always a 'suspect'...

Ensure bpcd log folder exists on the client.
See if anything is logged when you get status 58.

how can I tell which software is killing or shutting down NBU service ?

Talk to server owner and/or Windows admins. 
They should know which AV and/or security software is installed.
