Netbackup services on windows client stops by itself and need to be restarted however Services STARTUP TYPE set to Automatic.

Hi Pradeepit065,

I see that your OS is Server 2012.  I'll take a guess that this system is also a VMware VM client and it has a version of VMTools installed which is 11.x (but lower than 11.0.6).  If so, I think you have run into this issue:

I have the same issue, which I only seem to notice on my 2012 systems, although it doesn't seem to be interfering with my backups and restores at this point.  As noted in the article, there are three options:

  • Upgrade VMTools on the affected machines to at leat 11.0.6
  • Disable "appinfo" using vmwaretoolboxcmd.exe
  • Request the EEB for 8.1.2 (ET3992511) from Veritas support

I have seen this where AntiVirus software killed NBU processes.
Please search for the article that lists NBU processes to be excluded from AV scanning.
