Are you aware that all NBU versions up to 7.6.x reached EOSL on  February 1, 2017 ?

 https://www.veritas.com/content/support/en_US/article.100038907.html

So, there is no support in your old, unsupported version of NBU for your new vCenter 6.5 version.

You can find NBU with VMware compatibily in the NBU OS compatibility lists.
NBU 7.7 OS SCL: http://www.veritas.com/docs/000025229
(7.7 is already in end of standard support)
NBU 8.x OS SCL: http://www.veritas.com/docs/000115691

Hi Thvinhadm,

I would say your issue is most likely that you are running a version of VMware that is not supported by NetBackup 7.5.  NetBackup 7.5 uses VDDK version 5.1.1 and supports up to vSphere 5.1 U3.  From what you say, you are running vSphere 6.5.

Here is the link to the NetBackup 7.5 Software Compatibility List:   https://download.veritas.com/resources/content/live/SFDC/41000/000040842/en_US/nbu_76_scl.html?__gda...

Support for vSphere 6.5 was not introduced into NetBackup until version 7.7.3.  That version is now end of life, the same applies to 7.5 which you are currently running.

Your only options would be:

  • Downgrade VMware to 5.1 (probably very difficult, if even possible)
  • Upgrade NetBackup to at least 7.7.3, although preferably to a supported version (8.0 - 8.2)
  • Modify your backups to use agents inide your VM's, and do a traditional agent-based backup

Hope this helps,

Steve

@thvinhadm

Actually - it is NOT working normal and you are getting errors.

Please see the NBU 7.6 OS SCL : https://www.veritas.com/content/support/en_US/doc/NB_76_OSSCL

Latest versions supported by NBU 7.6.1.2 are vSphere 6.0, 6.0 U1, 6.0 U2.

Support for vSphere 6.5 was introduced in NBU 7.7.3.

You are simply lucky if anything is working.
You need to upgrade.

@Marianne ,

Thanks for your information :).
