Hello Experts,

I want to upgrade my master server [including media servers , clients] from 7.7.1 to 8.0.

Do i need a new license keys for it ? or i can use the existing installed license keys? or any other way to do this ?

Does any one upgrade to 8.0 ? Please share your experiences.

Thanks,

If you have a valid , current NetBackup 'Entitlement', you can download the software and new license keys from MyVeritas.

In the Licensing tab, select Entitlements.

Drill down until you see NetBackup.

NetBackup 8 will be listed in 'Current Version' tab with 2 links next to it:
'Download Software' and 'Manage Licenses'.

About installation an/or upgrade:

Be sure to read the Release Notes, Upgrade Guide and Installation Guide.

There are new feature for which you have to prepare before you start with installation or upgrade.

LOL, I went to download my 8.X software, and found my license was not active - we renewed in November, 2016.

My license from 11/16/2016 was set to expire 11/15/2016 ( -1 days ), someone mistyped it.

I had to open a service request to get the license updated, and now I am able to download my software...

If you have already upgraded to 8.X - is there anything you wish you had known before you started, or anything that would make it easier? Like the /tmp size issue or environment variables from previous upgrades?
