Netbackup upgrade from 5.1 MP7 to Netbackup 6.54

Hi,

We currently have NBU 5.1 MP7 and plan on upgrading to Netbackup 6.54.  We have 7 Media servers that have  Data Domain disk storage units.  Netbackup will upgrade the DSSU's when upgrading from 5.1 to 6.54.  We have 20TB's on disk and netbackup takes a very longtime to convert these DSU's when upgrading.  Is there a faster way to do this?  Why does Netbackup run through this on 5.X DSSU's during the upgrade?

Each of the client images in the NetBackup catalog are updated with the 6.5 format.

I'm about 50% sure that the .img files which exist on your DSU's are also updated also.
