Hi All,
I face issue about vmd service on Master Server has terminate every SAT 10:00 AM. I try to search about this issue and cannot found how to fix.
++++ daemon logs +++++
+++++++++++++++++++
My Environment :
Master Server OS = AIX 7.1
Master Server Version = 7.5.0.6

vmd will ALWAYS run on a master - no matter if it is media server or not.
NBU will not automatically terminate vmd.
It will shutdown vmd if anyone has stopped NBU or has manually issued a command to stop vmd.
You need to find out if anyone else has access to the master.
Also check for a crontab.
Check syslog logs (if enabled).
The only daemon/process that will automatically be shut down is EMM. But only if the filesystem on which NBU is installed fills up. NBU will shut down the relational database to prevent corruption when disk gets full.

is your master/media is same machine??
if not then vmd is not required to run on the master server as its a media server process ......
please ignore above line
..Thanks Granny :)

There is nothing within NBU that will terminate vmd. This means that you need to troubleshoot outside of NBU.
Myprevious advise still stands:
NBU will not automatically terminate vmd.
It will shutdown vmd if anyone has stopped NBU or has manually issued a command to stop vmd.
Check for other software that may also have a vmd process/daemon that could probably terminate NBU's vmd.

OK, if the issue only happens on Saturday, what is special about Saturday - something happens that does not happen on the other days of the week.
Does the process always terminate at the same time ?

Login as root and run: crontab -l
is there anything in there that could be shutting it down automatically?

Hi all,
This case back line support still find root cause and try to solve.

I still stand by my previous comments. NBU will not terminate its own daemons.
You need to look outside of NBU, at OS level.
Is there perhaps any other piece of third-party software installed? Maybe also containing a binary called vmd?
