Netbackup windows client install: no contents on C:\

Hello everyone,

My question follows in two parts.

1. How can we enforce Netbackup to install ALL of its binaries and data to a separate drive letter & directory? Even though we specify D:\ for installs, we still end up with some data being installed under the C:\ including Symantec shared binaries, etc. The issue with this comes from the locked down environment and low amount of storage we have on the root C:\ for our windows servers.

2. How can we force Netbackup install, push upgrade, and liveupdate files to stage themselves in someplace not on the C:\windows\temp directory? Do we have to change where the temp directory is located? or is there some value we can adjust somewhere?

Thanks!

You will need to change the Windows defaults.

TEMP variable can be determined by typing "echo %TEMP%" in cmd.  It can be changed in My Computer -> Properties -> Advanced System Settings.

Thanks Marianne. It looks like what you sent me is the only way. I'll see if they are willing to change the default directories for everyone; although I imagine I will get some kick back and issues with current and future installs of other products.

Thanks again!
