Hi @thamogovender

For a rebuilt master server, the IP address is not critical. The name must match on a rebuilt server.

Now, if you actually want some help, you will need to provide some more information. Such as

  1. What has happened?
  2. What are you trying to do?
  3. Describe the environment in a little more detail - where are the disk images located?
  4. What are the error mesages you are getting?

Cheers
David

  1. What has happened? We lost access to our SAN Storage , Master server was part of the Virtual Environment which went down due to hardware errors.
  2. What are you trying to do? We rebuilt a physical server with same name and IP address but cannot access the catalogs and reinsalled netbackup. We have configured it to see the media serverwhere the disk backups are done.
  3. Describe the environment in a little more detail - where are the disk images located? We are running version 7.7.2 with a media server which host the backup files, no tape backup due to library failure.
  4. What are the error mesages you are getting? we can see the media server via nebackup but cannot acces the media server catalogs and cannot restore..

I hope this helps

Cheers

Hello @thamogovender ,

be more descriptive in the subject name. "NetBackup" is not very specific description of a problem on a forum which is dealing with NetBackup. Best to introduce exact error message which you are getting - "cannot access media server catalogs" is also very generic description of your problem. You even did not specify which type of disk you use for catalog backups.

If your catalog backups are on a MSDP try to follow this first: https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.100049485.

Also refer to Disaster Recovery chapter here - https://www.veritas.com/content/support/en_US/doc/15179611-151832780-0/v95648490-151832780.
