One of the client backup is getting partially completed all time but when i see in the activity monitor job details of the client i cant see any error stated there. What could be the reason for the partial then ?

The bpbkar log is not from the same backup as the Activity Monitor details.
The backup selection seems to be the same.

I see this in bpbkar log:

18:29:35.936 [3132.6048] <16> dos_backup::OVBackupEventLog: ERR - unable to backup event log:<C:\Windows\system32\winevt\logs\HardwareEvents.evtx> (WIN32 6: The handle is invalid. )
18:29:35.936 [3132.6048] <16> file_access::V_OpenForRead: ERR - CreateFile() failed: C:\Windows\System32\winevt\Logs\HardwareEvents.evtx (WIN32 2: The system cannot find the file specified. )

Everything seems to be backed up except for above event log.
End result of backup:

18:30:08.281 [3132.6048] <2> tar_base::backup_finish: TAR - backup: 15402 files
18:30:08.281 [3132.6048] <2> tar_base::backup_finish: TAR - backup: file data: 177355099 bytes 3 gigabytes
18:30:08.281 [3132.6048] <2> tar_base::backup_finish: TAR - backup: image data: 218186752 bytes 3 gigabytes
18:30:08.281 [3132.6048] <2> tar_base::backup_finish: TAR - backup: elapsed time: 193 secs 17820788 bps
18:30:08.281 [3132.6048] <2> tar_base::V_vTarMsgW: INF - Total Size:177355099 + 3GB

Always perform test restores on a regular basis...

What type of backup? Filesystem or database?

Have you tried to run Error or All Log Entries report for this client?

Please copy all text in Details tab of the status 1 job and post here.

Its flat file windows filesystem backup.

It seems that absolutely nothing is actually backed up. I was hoping to see more than this in Activity Monitor.

You cannot backup Event Viewer at file level. You need to backup Shadow Copy conponents which will include Event Viewer.

About the other two - have you checked Exclude List for this client?

For detailed information on how bpbkar on the client is interpreting the Backup Selection, you need bpbkar log on the client. I suggest level 3 logging.

Attached bpbkar logs for your reference. Even for others clients in our environment file level backup for event viewer logs are getting successful. However netbackup accept VSS method to backup open files of event viewer logs I hope.

The bpbkar log is not from the same backup as the Activity Monitor details.
The backup selection seems to be the same.

I see this in bpbkar log:

18:29:35.936 [3132.6048] <16> dos_backup::OVBackupEventLog: ERR - unable to backup event log:<C:\Windows\system32\winevt\logs\HardwareEvents.evtx> (WIN32 6: The handle is invalid. )

Everything seems to be backed up except for above event log.
End result of backup:

18:30:08.281 [3132.6048] <2> tar_base::backup_finish: TAR - backup: 15402 files
18:30:08.281 [3132.6048] <2> tar_base::backup_finish: TAR - backup: file data: 177355099 bytes 3 gigabytes

18:30:08.281 [3132.6048] <2> tar_base::V_vTarMsgW: INF - Total Size:177355099 + 3GB

Always perform test restores on a regular basis...

Thanks for the findings. Let me contact with windows admin to check whether the file got corrupted or not.

Check the Windows VSS writers. They're notorious for failing.
