Hi
Just moved tape robotics form a couple Windows 2008 servers to some new Windows 2012 media servers. On both boxes the tape robotics cannot be seen as media changers. The QConverge console (used for static binding) confirmed that zoning had occured on box media servers Rescanning and rebooting the servers did not help.
Tape Library = Oracle StorageTek SL3000 - its been working very well on Windows 2008
Any ideas?

Located the problem - Being HP servers reloaded SPP that added the drivers. Looks like the boxes were not built according the requirements.
The OS completely ignored the robotics, there was no "unknown device" created , we could see it QConverge (HBA management & reporting software). It was a FC robot not an API (ACSLS) robot.

In the device manager, do you see the medium changer at all? Are their newer drivers for this that need to be installed? When windows sees the robot and drives, they will be avaiable to netbackup to be added.

No medium changer or unknown device in Windows Device Manager? If so, check zoning again so that HBA and target port of medium changer is in same zone.
Also check robot type of previous configuration. If robot type is ACS, Medium changer is controlled by ACSLS.
