Hi All;

 My backup system is running on 7.7.2. Oracle client is running on windows 2008. Mater server is linux redhat 2.6. I have a issue to validate RMAN credential on Oracle instance. I was able to validate rman on oracle instance before but after dba moved from 11g to 12c, I am not able to validate rman with new net service name. Any help on it Thank you very much.

You need to check the App & DB compatibility list:

Hi,

If your Oracle is 12c R1 then Windows server 2008 is supported from Netbackup 7.6.0.2.

If Oracle is 12c R2 then as per "NetBackup 7.7 – 7.7.x Database and Application Agent Compatibility List" Windows 2008 server is not listed hence its seems not tested or not supported for Oracle 12c R2 and support for Oracle 12c R2 started from Netbackup 7.7.3

DBA says:

the rman catalog database (which is on cdcrmanp1 server) is 12c.

The database on mxrd1db004 is 11g. DB 64-bit and R2

Oracle Database 11g Release 11.2.0.4.0 - 64bit Production

PL/SQL Release 11.2.0.4.0 - Production

CORE    11.2.0.4.0      Production

TNS for 64-bit Windows: Version 11.2.0.4.0 - Production

NLSRTL Version 11.2.0.4.0 - Production

I don't have issue if I unchecked the box " Oracle RMAN Recovery Catalog
