Hi,
In our environment, One backup is taking much time to complete (6 hrs approx for 16GB size).
We haven't made any changes in recent times.
Details:
Netbackup version: 8.1.1
Master server OS: AIX 7.1
Media Server OS : AIX 7.1
Please help.

There is a couple of things to investigate
Use GEN_DATA file directive to check if there is sufficient bandwidth from client to master/media.
https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.100030600
Use bpbkar to check if local file system is able to read data fast enough using command below:
time /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpbkar -nocont -nofileinfo -nokeepalives /slow_file_system > /dev/null 2> /tmp/file.out
This command will measure the time Netbackup bpbkar process is to read data off the file system. Read data is send to nowhere. Netbackup cannot backup data faster than the file system can deliver.
That said, slow backup are usually caused by a ton of small files. E.g trace or audit files so team up with the AIX admin to have a look at the file system.
