I am trying to find out if I can get Oracle / SQL db reports using Opt Center . I need to get the name of the DB / status / amount of data ? Is that possible without an Analytics license ?

I think  you'll need a license but you can give it a try.

In the WebUI, you don't get access to the SQL query section unless you have the license. Maybe it works using ODBC.....

I do not believe that it's possible to get Oracle db names from NBU. 
The db name is not at all stored in NBU catalog - only the names that are specified in the RMAN 'format' variable.

Ignore ^^^, I misunderstood your question.

I recall finding DB names in the database a long time ago, but it wasn't put there consistently. I can also not recall if this was before intelligent policy days.

Back to your actual question, if you don't have the analytics licence you won't be able to attempt to find it (whether it's there or not)
